OUR MISSION
GREETINGS!
THE SOCIETA’ DANTE ALIGHIERI OF PITTSBURGH IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ITALIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE. The Society is open to all people interested in its ideals, whether they speak Italian or not. Meetings and conferences are conducted in English, and if the feature speaker speaks only Italian, the conference is translated or summarized in English. The conferences and the programs vary, encompassing everything that deals with the Society and the culture of Italy: Literature, Art, Science, Music, Folklore, etc. The Society meets generally once a month in September, October, November, February, March, April and May. December’s meeting is the annual Christmas party. The year closes with the annual banquet in May or June. The Society attracts Italian-Americans who would like to better their knowledge of the Italian language and culture, and Italians who might like to take the opportunity to meet with and exchange a few words with their fellow countrymen. The Society has also instituted classes for children and for adults interested in studying Italian language and culture. |

LA SOCIETA’ DANTE ALIGHIERI DI PITTSBURGH E’ UN’ORGANIZZAZIONE NON A SCOPO DI LUCRO DEDICATA ALLO SVILUPPO DELLA LINGUA E DELLA CULTURA ITALIANA. La Società e’ aperta a tutte le persone interessate ai suoi ideali, sia che esse parlino o meno la lingua italiana. Le riunioni e le conferenze vengono condotte in inglese, e se il conferenziere parla solamente l’italiano, la conferenza viene tradotta o riassunta in inglese. Le conferenze ed i programmi sono vari,coprendo tutto cio’ che tratta della società e della cultura italiana: Letteratura, Belle Arti, Scienze, Musica Folclore, ecc. La Società si riunisce generalmente una volta al mese nei mesi di settembre, ottobre, novembre, febbraio, marzo, aprile e maggio. A dicembre si tiene l’annuale festa di Natale. L’anno si chiude con il banchetto annuale nel mese di maggio o di giugno. La Società accoglie italo-americani che desiderino migliorare la propria conoscenza della cultura e della lingua italiana, ed italiani che desiderino cogliere l’occasione d’incontrarsi e scambiare due parole coi connazionali. La Società ha istituito anche delle classi d’italiano per bambini e per adulti interessati allo studio della lingua e della cultura italiana. _ |
